HASC Endorsed Business Partner bttn is offering a monthly bttn Market Report exploring supply-chain issues affecting personal protective equipment (PPE) and other supplies critical for hospital operations.

bttn is a Washington state-based medical supply procurement startup aimed at assisting health care organizations across the country with procurement and cost savings.

This month’s report explores a predicted rubber shortage in Southeast Asia that may soon impact prices for protective gloves and other rubber-based products.

From the report:

“Prices of rubber are projected to increase significantly over the coming months. Malaysia (one of the world’s top rubber producers and main glove manufacturer) is urging all buyers planning on making significant glove and face mask purchases over the course of the next five months to place those orders as soon as possible.

“The estimated world production of natural rubber in 2021 is anticipated to grow at 5.8 percent while world demand is estimated at 6.7 percent growth.”
