About the Critical Thinking Course

Critical thinking is vital in making effective decisions in health care, especially in urgent cases. In this online course, you’ll learn how to evaluate and improve your quality of thinking by actively analyzing information.

You’ll study key principles of, and barriers to, thinking critically. You’ll also discover how to apply your new skills throughout the nursing process to help you and your staff reach the best decision in each situation.

Course Goals

At the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

  • Understand critical thinking and how it helps you make better decisions
  • Use solid reasoning and methods to analyze problems
  • Discuss different models of thinking and when to use them
  • Spot barriers and biases that can prevent clear reasoning
  • Discern when a care situation calls for critical thinking
