About the Critical Thinking Course
Critical thinking is vital in making effective decisions in health care, especially in urgent cases. In this online course, you’ll learn how to evaluate and improve your quality of thinking by actively analyzing information.
You’ll study key principles of, and barriers to, thinking critically. You’ll also discover how to apply your new skills throughout the nursing process to help you and your staff reach the best decision in each situation.
Course Goals
At the end of this course, you’ll be able to:
- Understand critical thinking and how it helps you make better decisions
- Use solid reasoning and methods to analyze problems
- Discuss different models of thinking and when to use them
- Spot barriers and biases that can prevent clear reasoning
- Discern when a care situation calls for critical thinking

Mark Kaliher, RN
Mark Kaliher has over 20 years of nursing experience, primarily in the emergency department. He currently works as a charge nurse at Bear Valley Community Hospital in San Bernardino County. Kaliher has experience working with a variety of teams through many years of registry work and critical care transports. For the past 10 years, he has also led courses through FlexEd and HASC, becoming one of their most requested instructors. Students consistently say he’s able to take complicated concepts and make them easy to understand. His humor and passion for nursing make each course an enjoyable experience.

BRN Credit: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider No. 08593, for 4 contact hours. Registrants received without BRN numbers will not receive CE certificates.

CANCELLATIONS
- Cancellations received in writing up to received in writing by Oct. 30 will be subject to a $50 processing fee.
