Information Session: Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Programs

July 27, 2022 | 10:00 - 11:00AM PST

The Dallas College IRAP

HASC invites members to a virtual information session on Wednesday, July 27 from 10–11 a.m. to learn more about the Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Program (IRAP). This new apprenticeship model helps workers obtain relevant skills and faster access to high-quality careers while providing employers an additional pipeline for their workforce needs. IRAPs combine a paid work experience with an educational component, resulting in an industry-recognized credential.

Dallas College, a public community college in Dallas County, Texas, has created the Health Care Culinary Services Apprenticeship Program, an IRAP, for current and new employees working in the food and dietary services at health care facilities. The school also currently offers IRAPs for sterile processing, MRI technician and health care supply chain positions, with more programs underway.

This project is funded with federal grants from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Employment and Training Administration. HASC encourages human resources and hiring executives to utilize this special grant opportunity to help upskill and retain current staff, and also to recruit new employees for hard-to-fill roles that require specialized knowledge and experience.

During the information session, representatives from Dallas College and the American Society for Healthcare Human Resource Administration (ASHRRA) will share more details on this initiative and answer questions.

Who should attend?

Chief executive officers, HR executives, and directors and managers in talent acquisition, food and nutrition, sterile processing, MRI and health care supply chain services.
