Transgender Health Care Dignity Model and Certification Program

Health care providers and staff will learn how to provide the highest quality care for transgender, gender nonconforming, genderqueer and intersex patients through a dignity-first approach. This online half-day course covers the eight-unit Dignity Model, created by Kristie Overstreet, PhD, through an interactive lecture.

  • Define, describe and recognize basic concepts for identifying and understanding gender identity and gender dysphoria in patients.
  • Illustrate the importance of medical paperwork that is inclusive of gender identity.
  • Understand the significance of terminology and definitions in providing care for the transgender population.

Kristie Overstreet, PhD, LPCC, LMHC, LPC, CST

Dr. Overstreet is a board-certified transgender care therapist and holds a PhD in clinical sexology. She is also a licensed counselor in California, Florida, Georgia and Louisiana. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Overstreet provides consulting, training and speaking services and therapy throughout the United States. She prides herself on helping her clients become empowered to find their true selves. Dr. Overstreet has also been voted Best LGBTQIA Behavioral Health Provider in Jacksonville, Florida, for the past three years. The author of four books, she created the Transgender Healthcare Dignity Model to train healthcare providers to care for the transgender community with dignity.

Option 1: $295 per hospital member registration

Option 2: $1,475 (five registrations)

Option 3: $2,950 (10 registrations)

Option 4: $5,000 (25 registrations)

  • ACHE Credit: By attending the DHEI: Transgender Healthcare Dignity Model and Certification Program offered by Hospital Association of Southern California, participants may earn up to 3.5 ACHE Qualified Education Hours toward initial certification or recertification of the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) designation.
  • BRN Credit: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing. CEP #970 for 3.5 contact hours.
  • HRCI Credit: This program has been submitted to the HR Certification Institute for review.
