The San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG) invites hospitals in the Los Angeles region to a webinar on donating prepared food.

As of Jan. 1, 2024, California Senate Bill 1383 requires tier 2 edible food generators (EFGs) to donate any surplus food. This EFG tier includes health care facilities with 100 or more beds that prepare food on site.

In this webinar, you’ll learn more about the challenges and opportunities associated with donating prepared food. Speakers from elePlate, County of Los Angeles Public Health, FoodCycle LA and Los Angeles County Public Works will share practical tips, tools and best practices that will empower you to safely handle and donate prepared food.

By attending, you’ll gain actionable knowledge to take steps that reduce food waste and contribute to a more sustainable future. For more details, view the flyer[link], visit the SGVCOG website or contact Johanna Read, SGVCOG, [email protected].
