Overview
The Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), a HASC Education Partner, is a global leader in proven de-escalation and crisis prevention training for healthcare providers and other organizations.
As a HASC partner, CPI brings nationally recognized expertise in violence prevention and crisis intervention training for professional organizations. The institute’s decades of experience include a record of working with hospitals and health systems to promote safety for patients, visitors and staff.
Workplace violence, which can involve threats or acts that cause physical harm, disproportionately affects healthcare providers. CPI programs help healthcare teams prepare for potential risks by empowering them with skills to identify and de-escalate crises.
Benefits
Through this partnership, HASC members can access:
Prevention First™ Online Training
This four-lesson, 30-minute virtual course gives healthcare staff a general awareness of verbal interventions and the four stages of a crisis. Staff learn to identify escalating behaviors, build a common language across departments, and recognize when to call for help.
Verbal Intervention™ Training
Ideal for organizations with a hands-off policy and staff who rarely face higher-risk situations, this training builds the confidence and skills to verbally de-escalate disruptive behaviors before they escalate further.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Training
This training equips healthcare professionals with verbal de-escalation and early intervention skills to safely recognize and respond to everyday crisis situations, using safe disengagements and restrictive interventions with the least use of force.
NCI™ With Advanced Physical Skills
Built for staff supporting people more likely to display dangerous or complex behaviors, this training builds on Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® with advanced disengagement and intervention skills for higher-risk situations, plus problem-solving skills to assess risk and choose the right response.
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your workplace violence prevention program, improve staff confidence in managing challenging situations, or meet training goals, CPI offers practical, evidence-based solutions for healthcare teams.
