Phil Buttell Takes the Helm at Los Robles

HASC warmly welcomes Phil Buttell, who has taken the role of chief executive officer at Los Robles Health System, Thousand Oaks. He began at the 386-bed, Level II Trauma Center April 8.

Prior to Los Robles, Buttell was chief executive officer at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park City, Kansas. He joined HCA Healthcare in 2009, serving for 10 years as chief operating officer at HCA’s Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Missouri. During his time at Centerpoint, he played an instrumental role in the operations, growth and development of the 285-bed hospital and Level II Trauma Center.

Buttell began his career with Tenet Healthcare. He later held roles as associate administrator at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Indio, California; chief operating officer at Centennial Medical Center, Frisco, Texas; and chief development officer at Creighton University Medical Center, near Omaha, Nebraska.

Buttell received a bachelor’s degree from Rockhurst University, a Master of Health Services Administration degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law.
