Clinical Laboratory Science Student Placements Needed

HASC is requesting our members’ support in providing placement opportunities for clinical laboratory science (CLS) students in the California State University (CSU) Dominguez Hills and Channel Islands CLS programs.

Clinical placements are a key learning component for future clinical laboratory scientists. Along with rigorous academic coursework, students rely on high-quality clinical experiences to gain the knowledge needed to enter the workforce as skilled laboratory professionals. The growing demand for clinical training sites, however, continues to present challenges for CLS programs across the state.

HASC and our CSU partners recognize the substantial commitment required to train students, and we deeply appreciate the laboratory professionals who invest their time and expertise in developing the next generation. By partnering with these programs, organizations can play a vital role in addressing clinical workforce shortages while providing students valuable hands-on experience in a real-world setting.

If your organization is interested in offering placements, we welcome the opportunity to discuss available options, training capacity, scheduling and any questions you may have about student rotations. CSU’s programs are committed to supporting our clinical affiliates and working collaboratively to ensure a positive experience for both students and laboratory staff.

To learn more about potential clinical placements, please contact Soyinka Allen, program director for workforce development, HASC, at [email protected] or (213) 538-0722.
