As a thought leader on the future of nursing, the Nursing Advisory Council (NAC) provides strategic solutions applicable across the continuum of care. The council serves as an advocate, resource and guidepost for the changes needed to sustain health care’s economic viability, productivity and positive outcomes for our society.
The committee charge is as follows:
- Expand the NAC’s role as the voice for nursing and patient advocacy in Southern California and the state, ensuring that issues and opportunities for change are brought to the table and acted upon by regulatory agencies, legislators and health care associations.
- Influence local and regional policy decisions relevant to nursing and help ensure media coverage that promotes awareness and understanding of the critical factors affecting the profession.
- Develop future NAC representatives at all leadership levels who understand and share a deep commitment to the nursing profession and the council’s mission and vision.
- Provide the best and most accessible information to the media, researchers, policymakers and the public regarding the nursing mission, trends shaping the profession, emerging jobs and best practice programs.
