As the Senior Director of the Institute for Applied Economics at the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), Ms. Sedgwick leads the economic research and economic consulting work conducted at the LAEDC.
Ms. Sedgwick has been interviewed on NBC Universal and KCAL nightly news, Voice of America, KPPC, KNX, and featured in The Economist Checks and Balance podcast. She has been quoted in major news outlets including the Los
Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Business Journal, the Southern California News Group and more.
A Southern California native, Ms. Sedgwick studied economics at the University of Southern California (USC). She is a member of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE), the American Economic Association (AEA), and the Council for Community and Economic Research(C2ER). She represents Los Angeles County on SCAG’s Economic Roundtable and serves on the Film LA Research Advisory Committee and the LA Chapter’s NABE Council of Economic Advisors. Ms. Sedgwick volunteers annually as a mentor to undergraduate students selected for the USC Dornsife Gateway Internship Program.
