Nominations Open for My SoCal Hospital Heroes Awards

Do you know a HASC hospital employee who’s gone above and beyond in their daily work? Submit their name for consideration as a Hospital Hero!

The 2023 My SoCal Hospital Heroes Awards aim to highlight the outstanding work of hospital staff, day in and day out. The awards will recognize heroes from among member hospitals in our six-county region (LA, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara and Ventura). Awardees will be honored at the My SoCal Hospital Heroes Awards Gala, set for Friday, Nov. 3, 2023.

How to Nominate a Hero

Nominations are due Friday, July 28, 2023.

Each HASC member hospital may submit nominations based on your organization’s unique mission and values. (Hospital systems may want to select a division representative to coordinate nominations among your different locations.) Submit your nominees using the form below.

Your Hospital Heroes nominees should be team members who have stood out in positively impacting patients and/or colleagues within the past 12 months. Staff from all areas — medical, clinical, administration, operations, volunteers, etc. — are eligible for the award. The award committee will review all submissions and select the winners.

Suggested Guidelines

The following descriptions may help guide your process as you consider employees for nomination. (Please note that they do not necessarily reflect actual awards.)

Unsung Hero

Non-clinical staff members who have made an impact behind the scenes with quiet acts of heroism. Willing to help at any moment, they demonstrate that being a “hero” isn’t always defined by title or rank.

Employees who inspire change with an unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion in health care. These team members have advocated for a positive difference in health care and have changed the lives of patients and peers through their everyday work. With a passion for health equity, they strive to create a more just and balanced system within their organizations.

Health Care Innovator

Individuals who always seek ways to help their organizations better care for patients, whether it’s improving business programs, increasing access to patient data, creating new care delivery models or designing innovative educational programs. These staff think outside the box to develop compelling ideas to change the health care workplace.

Community Impact

Hospital team members who have made significant contributions towards the health and safety of their community. These employees have shown commitment above and beyond their normal job duties and a clear desire to strengthen their hospital’s social responsibility. Demonstrating leadership and passion, these staff have left a tangible impact on their community.

Nightingale: Excellence in Nursing
