HASC, in partnership with the LA County Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) and its LA County America’s Job Center of California (AJCC), is working to connect hospitals with job seekers who have recently completed, or expect to complete, health profession training programs this year. The partnership’s goal is to raise awareness of this job candidate pool to help fill critical vacancies in hospitals.
The LA County AJCCs work with various training providers to offer career training and expert guidance to veterans, individuals with disabilities, economically disadvantaged workers, mid-career professionals looking to transition, and recent high school and college graduates. The 19 AJCCs, conveniently located across LA County, work to train individuals and create a countywide pool of eligible candidates. Under the direction of the newly organized DEO, the AJCC offers employment and training services at no cost for employers and job seekers.
HASC invites LA County hospitals to review the list of AJCC training services (download here), which features health profession programs including certified nursing assistant, licensed vocational nurse, phlebotomy, medical billing and medical administrative assisting. Each program listing also includes the completion date, number of job candidates who have completed or will complete the program, training provider and AJCC contact.
If your hospital is interested in interviewing job seekers who have recently completed, or will soon complete, these training programs, please email the appropriate AJCC representative and copy the supervisor and LA DEO contact listed.
