HASC, LA County Connect Hospitals with Job Seekers

Hospitals seeking job candidates can continue looking to HASC and its partnership with the LA County Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO). The partnership aims to help hospitals fill key vacancies with job seekers who have recently completed or will soon complete health profession training programs.

The DEO’s LA County America’s Job Center of California (AJCC) works with training providers to offer career skills and guidance to job seekers. Programs focus on veterans, those with disabilities, disadvantaged workers, mid-career employees looking to transition, and recent high school and college graduates.

Located across LA County, the 19 AJCCs work to train job seekers and create a countywide pool of qualified candidates. There is no cost for employers and job seekers to use AJCC services.

HASC invites LA County hospitals to review the list of AJCC training services (download here). Its health profession programs include certified nursing assistant, licensed vocational nurse, phlebotomy, medical billing and medical administrative assistant. Each listing includes the program completion date, number of job candidates expected to graduate, training provider and AJCC contact.

If your hospital would like to interview recent training program graduates, please email the listed AJCC representative and copy the supervisor and LA DEO contact.

For any questions, please contact Soyinka Allen, HASC workforce development program director, at [email protected] or (213) 538-0722.
