Communities Lifting Communities (CLC) and HASC are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 Health Care Scholarship and Stipend Program awards. Through the 2025 cycle, seven health care scholarships and six stipends have been awarded to students and interns employed at HASC member hospitals.
Undergraduate Scholarships ($2,500 each)
- Kristy Jacobsen, central sterile processing specialty coordinator, Huntington Health
- Keilamae Perez, certified phlebotomy technician I, La Palma Intercommunity Hospital
- Jessica Rivera, diagnostic imaging clerk, Corona Regional Medical Center
Graduate Scholarships ($3,000 each)
- Abdel Rahman Karsou, lead clinical lab scientist, Corona Regional Medical Center
- Folasade Alayo, registered nurse, Corona Regional Medical Center – Behavioral Health
- Taylor Delahoussaye, labor and delivery registered nurse, Huntington Health
- Pamela Flores, community health education program coordinator, Glendale Memorial Hospital
Stipend Awards ($2,000 each)
- Nareh Chorbajian, intern, Northridge Hospital Medical Center
- Maria Alvarado Martinez, intern, Desert Valley Hospital
- Daisy Rojas, intern, Communities Lifting Communities
- Nadeen Heyari, intern, Children’s Hospital of Orange County
- Shannon Thompson, intern, CommonSpirit Community Hospital of San Bernardino
- Jacqueline Rosas Torres, intern, Dignity Health Community Hospital of San Bernardino
Launched in 2023, the program seeks to reduce health disparities and advance community well-being throughout Southern California by fostering a more diverse and representative health care workforce. It does so by easing the financial burden for students and interns, especially those from underrepresented communities, as they pursue health care careers.
The Stipend Assistance Program is available to College to Career Development Internship Program (CDIP) applicants who have been matched with a host member hospital. To learn more, please visit the CDIP web page.
CLC and HASC are proud to continue investing in the next generation of health care professionals. Through this program, we aim to help address the ongoing shortage of diverse talent and encourage individuals to build lasting careers within HASC member hospitals.
