HASC, in partnership with AARP and the City of Los Angeles Workforce Development Board, recently held a virtual workshop on Rethinking Age at Work.
The interactive employer training was designed to help employers rethink age in the workplace and turn demographic change into a competitive advantage. During the session, participants explored age-inclusive practices and practical strategies to help healthcare organizations:
- Better understand the needs and experiences of workers age 55 and older.
- Foster more age-inclusive workplaces by hiring, retaining, developing and advancing employees across all ages and career stages.
- Strengthen workforce engagement and build a more resilient, multigenerational workforce.
Here are some resources from the session that may be helpful:
- Access the presentation slides here and the session recording here.
- HASC also encourages members to join the AARP Employer Alliance program, which helps organizations build workplaces where employees of all ages can thrive and work together to drive engagement, productivity and innovation. This program also allows you to learn and network with hundreds of forward-looking companies. There is no cost to join.
We hope you find these resources valuable as you continue to strengthen your workforce strategies. By embracing age-inclusive practices, healthcare organizations can better attract and retain experienced talent, foster collaboration across generations and build a more resilient workforce equipped to meet the evolving needs of their communities.
We encourage you to share these resources with your colleagues and explore how these strategies can support your organization’s workforce goals.
