HASC, in partnership with Orange County United Way, engaged Cause IMPACTS to develop a comprehensive workforce report on the evolving needs of HASC member hospitals. The report, “Strengthening Orange County’s Healthcare Workforce: Recommendations for a Resilient Future, was funded by CalOptima Health.
The workforce report is designed to provide healthcare leaders with data-driven insights into the current and emerging workforce needs in the Orange County region. The report examined key workforce indicators, including hiring trends, turnover and skill gaps, while identifying challenges and opportunities affecting hospitals and healthcare employers.
By bringing these insights together, the report helps create a clearer picture of existing workforce pressures exist where targeted strategies may have the greatest potential to make a difference.
For hospital leaders, workforce planning requires more than responding to immediate staffing challenges. Leaders must understand broader trends and anticipate future needs. Further, addressing healthcare workforce shortages requires collaboration across hospitals, educators, workforce organizations, community partners and other stakeholders.
The partnership between HASC and Orange County United Way reflects a shared commitment to understanding workforce challenges and developing practical solutions that benefit both healthcare employers and the communities they serve.
HASC’s goal for the completed report is to provide our members with actionable information to help inform workforce strategies today while you prepare for the needs of tomorrow. We hope you find it a valuable resource for your hospital and an important tool in supporting workforce planning and development across Orange County.
