Hospital Communications Tools

To support our advocacy efforts and increase impact, HASC offers tools to help member hospitals and health systems communicate with internal and external audiences on current health care issues. This webpage serves as a library of materials that inform health care issues at the local, state and federal level. This page is updated as needed with new information and tools to meet hospitals’ communications needs.

Don’t Delay Care – 2021

Social Media Toolkit

Every second counts when it comes to time-sensitive conditions like stroke and heart attack. Unfortunately, since the outset of the pandemic, health care providers have seen an alarming drop in the number of patients seeking care for these and other conditions. Delaying care can have serious impacts on health in the short and long terms.

Medical emergencies are not the only reason to seek care during a pandemic. The presence of COVID-19 has created an unhealthy sense of fear around visiting hospitals, doctors and clinics for routine screenings and check-ups as well. However, the public should know that hospitals and medical professionals follow strict, science-based protocols in keeping facilities safe and prepared to serve their communities. As we continue to battle COVID-19, HASC’s member hospitals want to remind our communities that they are committed to keeping patients protected and healthy. Our hospitals are open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Hospitals are open and ready for all people who need care.

National Hospital Week 2021

Social Media Toolkit

May 9-15, 2021 is a very special National Hospital Week. California hospitals have weathered what is likely the biggest challenge in their history, and the time is ripe for recognizing their accomplishments. The 185 HASC region hospitals and more than 400 hospitals across the state held firm in the face of overwhelming numbers, providing world-class care through a pandemic that generated more than 3.7 million cases.

This month, we’re celebrating the ability to resume aspects of our lives that we desperately missed and are now able to enjoy, thanks to the heroic work of our hospitals and valued health care professionals.

Feelings of thanks and appreciation are widely felt toward hospital workers. To celebrate their accomplishments, HASC has created this National Hospital Week Social Media Toolkit. We have taken care of the content – all you need to do is share it on your social platforms.

Preventative Measures: COVID-19

Communications Toolkit Overview

HASC in collaboration with CHA and the Regional Associations has developed a communications toolkit to help hospitals and health care systems, providers, public health professionals, health departments and community organizations reach populations that may need COVID-19 prevention messaging as safer-at-home orders begin to loosen.

As various businesses begin to reopen and communities are seeing larger gatherings, paired with the relaxation of safety guidelines, we understand that there is a need to underscore the continuance of necessary precautions and to emphasize the fact that the pandemic is not over.

Below are sample materials to use on your social platforms to promote this message. Please feel free to adjust the copy to better suit your organization.

The toolkit includes:

  • Current messaging from a trusted source.
  • Downloadable graphic assets.
  • Suggested social media messaging and hashtags.
  • Template email message.
  • Customizable print poster.
