One of the main hurdles facing hospitals has been recovering and rebuilding following the COVID-19 pandemic. While daunting on its own, this challenge has been aggravated by new and emerging factors, including harmful labor-driven city initiatives that threaten to divert our focus from caring for our communities. In addition, many ongoing issues such as hospital throughput, workforce shortages, reimbursement and health disparities have worsened in recent years.

While the challenges are many, it’s also important to acknowledge the past year of collective successes in numerous areas. These achievements directly and positively impact HASC members and their ability to care for patients, employees and communities.

HASC is grateful for all that our member hospitals and health systems do to improve the well-being of Southern Californians, and for the ongoing privilege of supporting their work.

“Our hospital leaders are among the most competent, talented, engaged and knowledgeable individuals around,” HASC President/CEO George Greene notes in his Impact Report introduction. “You approach crisis with poise and meet opposition with solutions. That is why I’m proud to be a part of such an esteemed group of leaders and why I’m honored to stand side by side with you to protect and improve health care in Southern California.”
