President’s Message From George W. Greene

This week, many of us will gather around tables with our families and friends and take time to reflect on what we’re most thankful for. The year certainly has brought both familiar and unexpected challenges. Despite the continuance of COVID-19, our hospitals’ commitment to caring for all Southern California’s residents has not wavered — they have continued to safeguard our health and safety. For that, I am grateful and proud to work alongside their dedicated leaders.


Survivor Hatch Onboard for Annual Meeting

HASC has added speakers to its 2022 Annual Meeting roster — with two-time plane crash survivor Austin Hatch (above) now on the agenda. 


CLC Shares Hospital Community Outreach Efforts

Communities Lifting Communities, the HASC charitable affiliate and 501c3 nonprofit, this week shares some significant community outreach work completed by two member hospitals. 

Over the past year, Cedars-Sinai and Adventist Health White Memorial have pioneered procedures to identify diverse business partners with an aim to promote job creation and economic activity in the communities they serve.


Transgender Patient Care: Dec. 9 Spots Open

The DHEI (Diversity, Health Equity, and Inclusion): Transgender Healthcare Dignity and Certification Program educates health care providers on how to deliver the highest-quality care for the transgender, gender-nonconforming, genderqueer and intersex patient community. This unique half-day course covers the eight-unit Dignity Model developed by clinical psychologist Kristie Overstreet, PhD using an interactive lecture approach.
