Emergency Child Care for Essential Workers

In recent years, staffing shortages and the COVID-19 pandemic have put heavy demands on health workers, including extra needs for child care. This page lists information on emergency child care services by region and county. We hope this resource will enable hospitals and essential staff to access child care services and financial support more easily.

Regional and County Resources

WeeCare

WeeCare is a network of licensed child care providers partnering with the City of LA to serve health care workers. Immediate options are available for full-time, part-time, drop-in, flexible schedule and 24-hour caregivers. WeeCare helps parents find the best child care match for their unique needs. The WeeCare app allows parents to view caregiver matches, enroll and receive secure photo and video updates on children. The app’s Fever-Free technology minimizes COVID-19 exposure risk through ongoing remote health and temperature checks for parents, providers and children. WeeCare is waiving platform fees and offering discounts for essential workers. To learn more, call or text (310) 929-9579 (available 24/7) or visit weecare.co/daycares/ca/los-angeles.
