HASC warmly welcomes Andrew Goldfrach, who became chief executive officer of Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) on June 1.
Goldfrach had served as ARMC’s chief operating officer since March 2020, leading initiatives that have increased the hospital’s status and expanded its services. Under his direction, ARMC became accredited as a comprehensive stroke center, launched a neuroscience critical care service, and created innovative programs in cardiothoracic surgery and minimally invasive robotic surgery.
“I am honored to have this opportunity to lead the dedicated team at ARMC,” said Goldfrach. “Together, we are committed to advancing health care excellence and improving outcomes for our patients and community.”
ARMC, a 456-bed teaching hospital in Colton, is owned by San Bernardino County and governed by the Board of Supervisors. The hospital operates the Edward G. Hirschman Burn Center, a level I trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, a behavioral health center and five primary care centers.
“Andrew brings a unique blend of strategic vision and operational expertise,” said Dawn Rowe, San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Chair and Third District Supervisor. “His leadership has been instrumental in driving growth, enhancing patient care, and strengthening our community partnerships.”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Goldfrach played a pivotal role in the county’s response efforts. He served as the county’s interim public health director, with his initiatives earning multiple innovation awards from the National Association of Counties.
Prior to joining ARMC, Goldfrach was chief executive officer of University Hospitals Avon Rehabilitation Hospital in Ohio. There, his initiatives improved growth in admissions, quality outcomes and financial performance.
Goldfrach holds a master’s in health administration from Washington University School of Medicine. He is board certified in health care management by the American College of Healthcare Executives.
As part of his new role, Goldfrach also joins the boards of the California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems and the California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM). ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for CUSM, which welcomed its first class of students in 2018.
