On Thursday, March 23, the Los Angeles Recuperative Care (LARC) Learning Network will meet in person for the first time for this all-day forum. Over the last year, the LARC Learning Network has met virtually more than 20 times. These meetings are attended by recuperative care providers, managed care plans (MCPs), hospital administrators, hospital discharge planners, county staff and local foundations.

Launched in January  2022, the LARC Learning Network aims to help create successful partnerships between LA MCPs and recuperative care providers. Through the California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) transformation initiative, Medi-Cal managed care plans are able to pay for recuperative care.

Jacey Cooper, California Medicaid director and chief deputy director, Department of Health Care Services, will join the forum and share her vision for recuperative care under the CalAIM initiative. Several panel discussions will showcase the various care management models in LA’s recuperative care facilities, the program’s cost benefits, challenges and best practices. Panels will include hospital representatives, recuperative care providers and MCP representatives. This event is free of charge and includes breakfast and lunch.

The LARC Learning Network forum is hosted by the National Institute for Medical Respite Care and HASC on behalf of National Health Foundation. We’re grateful to the California Health Care Foundation, Kaiser Permanente and UniHealth Foundation, our forum sponsors.

Space at this forum is limited and registration will close when full. Please register as soon as possible using the green button above.
