How Employers Can Strengthen Their Workforce Through Age Inclusion
As employers navigate a rapidly changing workforce, creating age-inclusive workplaces has become an increasingly important business priority. To help HR leaders better understand and respond to these workforce trends, HASC, in partnership with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and the City of Los Angeles Workforce Development Board, is offering a complimentary virtual training session, Rethinking Age at Work.
Scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Pacific Time, this interactive Zoom training will provide practical insights and strategies for recruiting, retaining and supporting employees across multiple generations. As the workforce continues to age, older workers represent the fastest-growing segment of the labor market. Yet many organizations are still not fully leveraging the valuable skills, knowledge and experience that this talent pool brings to the workplace.
Rethinking Age at Work is designed specifically for HR professionals, workforce leaders and managers seeking to strengthen their organization’s approach to age diversity and inclusion. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of evolving workforce demographics and learn how these shifts are impacting employers across industries.
Key topics include:
- Understanding changing workforce demographics and their implications for employers.
- Recognizing age bias and assumptions that can influence workplace practices and decision-making.
- Exploring effective strategies to recruit, retain and advance older workers.
- Building stronger, more collaborative intergenerational teams.
- Learning how workforce development systems can help employers meet their talent and staffing needs.
Drawing on national research, real-world employer examples and practical workplace scenarios, the session will help leaders translate age-inclusive principles into actionable strategies that can enhance organizational performance and employee engagement.
Rethinking Age at Work is part of AdvantAGE LA, the City of Los Angeles initiative to employ, retain and advance adults age 55 and older. The program reflects a growing recognition that organizations benefit when they embrace the strengths and contributions of workers at every stage of their careers.
HR executives and professionals throughout Los Angeles County are encouraged to attend and share this opportunity with colleagues who may benefit from the training. Please refer to the event flyer to learn more, and register using the flyer link or the green button above.
