On Wednesday, HASC was named the 2021 Corporate Honoree at the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation’s (LAEDC) Eddy Award ceremony at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. HASC accepted the award on behalf of our hospital partners and their amazing health care professionals for their tireless work and dedication through the last 20-plus months of the pandemic.
HASC board members Joe Avelino and Lori Morgan (from left) joined HASC President/CEO George W. Greene and Chair Kerry Heinrich with board member Keith Hobbs at Wednesday’s Eddy Awards event.
Extraordinary resilience and collaboration was the theme of the ceremony — which our hospitals and health systems exemplified over the past year and a half. Together, these are vital components needed to fortify the health of our hospitals and their communities. We all know that hospitals play a pivotal role not only in restoring the health of our loved ones, but also in bolstering the economic health and prosperity of the cities and communities they’re seated in.
It is my hope that the same collaborative and resilient spirit that safeguarded our communities through the pandemic will continue as we emerge from this once-in-a-generation global crisis. The coordination and cooperation we’ve honed through our response make us all stronger and more able to weather future challenges — whether COVID-related, earthquake, wildfire or other threats unforeseen. We look to our valued allies to continue to support hospitals and health systems as they work to turn the page on this pandemic.
I encourage you to watch this inspiring video, which underscores why our hospitals deserve this prestigious award.
I want to sincerely thank the LAEDC selection committee for recognizing the extraordinary efforts of our HASC member hospitals.
Take care — and be proud!
