HASC 100: A Century of Serving Hospitals

In 1923, 14 Southern California hospitals joined together to form the first hospital association west of the Mississippi. This organization would become the Hospital Association of Southern California.

Over the ensuing decades, HASC has continually advocated for the interests of hospitals, health systems, their employees and their communities on a wide range of issues. Today — having experienced the Great Depression, World War II, two LA Olympic Games, major advances in health care and technology, and several pandemics — HASC remains as strongly committed to our members as ever.

As we look back at all that HASC has achieved — and look forward to the next century of partnering with members to care for our communities — we have much to celebrate. The HASC 100 theme will be highlighted at the 2023 Annual Meeting (May) and the My SoCal Hospital Heroes Awards gala (November), as well as in various communications this year.
