HASC Partners to Provide Eight-Week CNA and Phlebotomist Training

HASC, in partnership with the Southeast Los Angeles County (SELACO) Workforce Development Board and Downey Adult School, are proud to offer a no-cost Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Phlebotomist Training program. The eight-week course will enable participants to obtain two certifications that will improve their marketability, expand their skillset to wider range positions and create opportunities for career advancement.

The program combines all CNA instruction with phlebotomy instruction and training, and meets all the requirements for students to become a California licensed phlebotomist (CPT 1). This program also prepares students to take the National Certification Exam by the National Center for Competency Testing and has been approved by the California Department of Public Health.

Orientation is scheduled for February 18, and class begins on February 28.

This program is made possible through a grant from the Workforce Accelerator Fund 9.0 that is intended to advance quality jobs and equity. Under-represented, minority and low-income participants will be prioritized. Anyone interested in this training may also qualify for other supportive services from SELACO.
