HCAI Supplier Diversity Report Updates

The California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) has made changes to its Hospital Supplier Diversity Report. Hospitals are required to submit this report annually on their minority, women, LGBT and disabled veteran business enterprise procurement efforts.

Changes include:

  • On the certification page, HCAI added a statement that, in certifying the veracity of their submitted data, submitters also acknowledge that all their provided information will be available for public viewing.
  • HCAI added a new reporting section, “Hospital System/Regional Network Profile.” This new section allows hospitals to update the name of a system or regional network and of hospitals associated with it.

In addition, it is important to note that HCAI can impose civil penalties on hospitals that fail to submit reports by the due date or request filing extensions.

Hospitals must submit their reports via HCAI’s online portal by July 1 each year. Because July 1 falls on a weekend in 2023, reports submitted by July 3 will not be considered late. If reports are submitted after July 3, however, penalties will be calculated starting from the July 1 due date.
