Overview
Join Communities Lifting Communities (CLC) and HASC for Place-based Investing, the final workshop in our Anchor Mission virtual series. Guest speakers Eddie Salvador, CommonSpirit Health, and David Zuckerman, Healthcare Anchor Network, will present case studies on. They’ll discuss how anchor institutions can leverage resources to invest in their communities and improve overall health and well-being.
Objectives
- Educating key stakeholders on the place-based investing strategy and anchoring collaborative strategy to create shared understanding.
- Providing examples of place-based investing from peer institutions, including best practices and lessons learned.
- Sharing next steps for engagement within CLC, HASC and the Advancing Health Equity and Economic Opportunity Initiative.

This workshop is part of the Advancing Health Equity and Economic Opportunity Initiative. Through the program, CLC and HASC are collaborating with hospitals, health systems and partner organizations to address the underlying racial, social, economic, and systemic conditions that fuel health inequities. Participants will learn about the anchor missionand strategies for workforce development, local purchasing and place-based investing that can be implemented at the hospital, county and regional levels.
