Health Care Without Harmful Stigma

September 7, 2023 | 9:30 - 10:30AM PT

Overview

Learn how to use weight-inclusive, trauma-informed care to guide patients in attaining sustainable well-being. This workshop will explore how weight bias can degrade health outcomes, contribute to health inequities and intersect with racism, sexism and other biases. How can you provide care that’s inclusive, equitable and accessible to all?

HASC will provide the program recording to those who have registered.

Objectives

Following this program, you’ll be able to:

  • Define areas of stigma often encountered in health care and education.
  • Determine how bias harms health outcomes and creates health inequities.
  • Identify what you can do now to provide inclusive, diverse and accessible care.

Who should attend?

Clinical leaders, health care educators, hospital administrators and human resources personnel.
